Date and time: 6 March, 09:15 – 16:00
Venue: Wellcome, Euston Road, London
Registrations are now open to Stempra’s annual event for early career scicommers, the Press Officer Training Day, via Eventbrite.
This is an in-person only event at Wellcome, London, as we want to encourage as much networking as possible.
Who should come?
If you are an early career science communicator or you know someone who is early in their career, please encourage them to come. Whether you or they work for a university, learned society, academic publisher, research council, agency, research charity, or museum there will be something for you!
This event often fills up early so if you are interested, we would encourage that you sign up sooner rather than later. We do ask that attendees are Stempra members so if you aren’t already, sign up now! Details on how to join are available on the Stempra website.
Programme
The timings and details of this year’s programme are being finalised but expect sessions on spokespeople, crisis comms, finding stories and storytelling and a panel of journalists who will share their thoughts on how best to work with them.
Support
If you are just starting out in your career or work for an organisation with a limited budget, there is support to cover travel costs available through the Dianne Stilwell bursary.
There is also some support to cover additional childcare costs.
If you would like to apply for these types of support, please contact the Stempra committee.
Thank you to our sponsor and host
This year’s Press Officer’s Training Day has been made possible thanks to the kind support of EurekAlert! – Stempra’s Lead Professional Development Partner – and Wellcome.
