Jonathan Cooke is the science communication and media officer for the NC3Rs, covering media and engagement funds.
After finishing an undergraduate degree in Zoology, Jonathan went on to complete his Masters in Science Communication from the University of Sheffield. After a while working in events management; Jonathan moved to London in 2019 to pursue science communication full time.
His research interest prior to leaving university included using paleontology to discuss evolution, how parasites alter the behaviour of their hosts and designing informative leaflets about diverticulitis.
With prior experience in events management and voluntary committee roles, Jonathan has notable experience in shaping the direction of organisations and engaging with their members.
Jonathan worked on the Academy’s biggest engagement project to date, The Departure Lounge which aims to improve the conversation about death & dying.
