Jonathan Cooke is one of the communications officers at The Academy of Medical Sciences, focusing primarily on engagement with community groups
After finishing an undergraduate degree in Zoology, Jonathan went on to complete his Masters in Science Communication from the University of Sheffield. After a while working in events management; Jonathan moved to London in 2019 to pursue science communication full time. His research interest prior to leaving university included using paleontology to discuss evolution, how parasites alter the behaviour of their hosts and designing informative leaflets about diverticulitis.
With prior experience in events management and voluntary committee roles, Jonathan has notable experience in shaping the direction of organisations and engaging with their members.
Jonathan is currently working on the Academy’s biggest engagement project to date, The Departure lounge which aims to improve the conversation about death & dying.
