Pitching to non-science journalists

23 November 2016
  • Start: 19:00
  • End: 21:00
  • Location: The Betsey Trotwood (upstairs room)

We all love seeing science and scientists from our institutions in the news pages of the daily papers, but which other outlets should we bear in mind for our quirkier stories? How should we (and shouldn’t we) pitch stories to journalists that aren’t science, health or environment specialists? What kinds of stories work for magazines or radio programmes? Can a picture tell a thousand words?

When: Wednesday 23 November, from 7pm to 9pm

James Waterhouse, Reporter, BBC Newsbeat

Roisín Dervish-O'Kane, features writer, Women’s Health magazine

Kirstin Kidd, Deputy Picture Editor, New Scientist

Venue: Upstairs room in The Betsey Trotwood (five minutes from Farringdon tube station), 56 Farringdon Road, London, EC1R 3BL
