Communicating in a crisis
19 April 2018
What we can learn from the University of Manchester building fire and Manchester Arena bombing?
Whether you’re the person writing your organisation’s crisis communications strategy, monitoring social media activity, issuing holding statements or fielding calls, a crucial part of our jobs as communications professionals will involve communicating in a crisis – and making sure we’re well prepared to do that. But nothing can prepare you enough for the actual event.
Jamie Brown, Media Relations Manager at the University of Manchester, will share his experiences and lessons learned from the two major events that affected the University in 2017 - a huge fire that devastated their cancer research building and the terrorist attack at the Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester Arena.
JWho can attend: The event is open to Stempra members only. Non-members can sign up before the event or on the night
