Nicola Kane

Nicola Kane is Media Relations Manager at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, a registered charity committed to enabling surgeons to achieve and maintain the highest standards of surgical practice and patient care. Nicola is responsible for media work on a range of policy issues including the rationing of surgery by NHS commissioning groups, professional regulation, cosmetic surgery and children’s teeth, as well as promotion of the Hunterian Museum’s exhibitions.

Previously she worked as press office and then later senior press officer at the Royal Society, the UK’s national academy of science, and in the press and public affairs team for NESTA, an independent charity which works to increase innovation capacity in the UK.

Nicola received a Bachelor of Journalism from Rhodes University in South Africa.
